The First Kiss At Your Wedding: A Quick Guide
As you walk down the aisle, your celebrant or photographer will guide your positioning, and your husband-to-be will be waiting. However, if this isn't the case, the first crucial step is to ensure you are central to the aisle. Being too far left or right can look odd in photos. Remember, your first kiss photo will be one of the most significant and heartfelt moments in your album; it always is.
It's important to tell your celebrant or ceremony officiant to step out of the way when you're doing the first kiss. Most of the time, your officiant will already know this, but if you've opted for a friend or someone new, they may not know; there's no harm in letting them know ahead of time that you'll be giving them a slight nudge to move out of the way when the kiss is coming!
Remember, the essence of marriage is unity, so let your first kiss reflect this! Pull each other in so close that your hips, chests, and thighs are as close as possible or touching when you go for the kiss. This physical closeness will symbolise the emotional connection you're about to seal.
When you're physically kissing, don't rush it. Take your time, hold the kiss for at least 3 seconds, and let your photographer get a few clicks in, giving you several shots to look back on later. When you are done, don't immediately pull apart. Take a moment to be present, acknowledge you're now officially married, and live in the moment!
Here's a bonus tip: go for a second kiss as you exit the aisle to end your ceremony. This will give your photographer a few more epic shots, and it's a great way to end your ceremony on a high note, filled with excitement and joy.
