7 Positive Affirmations To Get You Through The Week
The world can be a stressful place sometimes, and self-care is the key to keeping your mental health in check. So we wanted to take a breather from the day-to-day stresses we all go through and give you some positive affirmations to get you through the week.
Monday - "Today, I can take care of my body by doing.."
Self-care is more important than ever right now, and taking time to focus on that is essential for your overall health, whether it's mental, emotional, or physical. So think about something you can do today that will assist you in taking care of your body. Taking care of your body doesn't have to be anything extreme or extensive. You could run yourself a bath, light some candles, make some tea and sit outside on your balcony or in your backyard and take in the world. The possibilities are pretty limitless, even in the face of isolation.
Tuesday - "The thing I love most about my body is….because it makes me feel exceptional."
Find a specific thing to love about your body today and embrace it. Remind yourself as many times as you need to why you love it. Sometimes, focusing on the overall picture can be challenging in tough times, so the next best thing is to find one small detail and focus on that.
Wednesday - "My body is the perfect fit for me, and I don't need it to look like anyone else's."
It's become a part of human nature sometimes to feel the urge to compare ourselves to others that we come across in our daily travels, both out in the world or online. With the majority of us in our homes in quarantine, we see a considerable rise in people posting photos or videos from their own homes, which is not a bad thing at all. Unfortunately, however, there seems to be a rise in people feeling a bit self-conscious when they're at home in their PJs on the couch. In contrast, others seem to be dressed to perfection beside the pool in their backyard or doing mini photoshoots from their bedroom. Everyone is different, and that's the beauty of it. Today, remind yourself that you are unique, your body is yours, and you don't need to feel as if you should look exactly like someone else. It's perfectly yours.
Thursday - "I can be the example of someone who loves their body."
We're all looking for motivation and inspiration in our everyday lives, it helps us find a sense of purpose and meaning, and it gets us through. So with that in mind, if you're ever struggling to find the motivation to love yourself, becoming the motivation for someone else is just as valuable!
Friday - "I feel grateful for, and love, the body I was born in"
We've only got the body we're born in, and sometimes it's worth reminding ourselves of that fact and being grateful for the beautiful body we were born into and live within. You're the only person born into that body (unless, like, you're in Westworld or Altered Carbon) and love it for all its unique beauty.
Saturday - "The only opinion on my body that matters is my own, and I choose to see it for the beautiful creation that it is."
With so much of our lives taking place online, people can and will often make assumptions or sling insults from anonymity. Unfortunately, no matter who we are or how much we try to ignore it, sometimes those comments can cut through, and it can stick with us. So today, take the time to remind your gorgeous self that the only opinion of your body that matters is your own, so give yourself some positive feedback today!
Sunday - "I am confident in my body."
It's Sunday, a day where many feel the pressures of the week catch up to them. But, today is an important day to remind yourself that you are beautiful and let your confidence show. Love yourself!
We're all living in an anxious time, and so much that can seem out of our control, but one thing we CAN take control of is the things we tell ourselves and the acts of self-love that we commit to. We hope these affirmations will help keep you in a better mind frame this week. Remember to take care of yourself as much as you take care of your loved ones.
