3 Tips From Real Brides To Reduce Wedding Planning Stress
We all know how stressful planning a wedding can be. It takes a lot out of you, so we've asked three Euphorie brides for their best tips on stress management while wedding planning.
Keeping A Wedding Journal
I felt like I always had so much on my mind throughout the entire planning process, and when I mentioned it to a friend, she told me I should start a journal strictly for my wedding-related thoughts. At first, it felt a little weird; I've never journaled before, but as the weeks progressed, I found it to be so helpful as a general mental health & self-care resource and an accessory to my planning process.
I used my wedding journal to write down my thoughts after dress shopping, ideas for the wedding, and keeping track of what I'd been doing for my wedding. And it was also really helpful to have a place where I could vent all my stress or frustrations over the planning part.
I still like to relive my process sometimes, and I'll get my wedding journal out and read through my thoughts and feelings around such a beautiful time in my life. It definitely eased so much stress and worry throughout that time for me!
Schedule Time for Self-Care
My sister was married about a year or so before me, and she gave me a piece of advice I was so grateful for & I give to all newly engaged women I know: schedule time for self-care. It's sooo important to take care of yourself and de-stress throughout the process. We all love our weddings and planning them, but it's so much to take on as a couple. You're basically building a puzzle every day, trying to fit the pieces together with your venue, your dress, the catering, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, travel, and so much more.
The hubs and I booked regular massages, lined up coffee dates on the beach around the times of our important wedding meetings, and just made sure we kept the balance between the planning process and keeping up self-care.
Schedule Appointments at Times That Work With Your Bridesmaids
When I was planning my wedding, there was so much to do! I got married at a winery, so I was doing site visits, meeting with florists, event management people, and so much more on getting a custom-made wedding dress with 12 fittings. Throughout it all, even when it was challenging at times, I organized for my bridesmaids to be there at all times, and it was the best decision I made. Having my girls there with me to be a voice when I felt anxious over wedding options, to discuss ideas with, or just to be my hype squad at my fittings was the best!! I highly recommend other brides try this if they can.
